Fernando Marin

A violinist with no classical style

Brazilian, born In November 1989, in the city of Ipatinga-MG, Fernando Marin is based and works as a musician in the city of London, UK.

He is influenced by Bossa Nova, MPB, Jazz and instrumental music in general and, despite of playing an orchestra's typical instrument, he prefers popular music over classical style.

He began studying violin at the age of 11, and got interested in this instrument after seeing a violinist playing in the church he used to attend as a child in his hometown of Brazil.

In 2005, at the age of 15, he started playing professionally at weddings, receptions and social events. Later on, he got to know many of the musicians from his region and started playing with them, performing in a diverse type of events and with a very diverse repertoire.

In 2007, at age of 17, he joined the "Orquestra de Câmara Jovem de Ipatinga", the orchestra in his hometown, with which he performed in several concerts. During this period, he had the opportunity to study with the teachers Eliseu Martins de Barros and William Branham Martins de Barros.

In 2011, he moved to England where he has played with various musicians at different events and where he continuos to develop his career as a violinist. His repertoire explores mainly the best of Brazilian and instrumental music.

He is always open to new projects and ideas.
